Located in Oshawa, the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre delivers a wide spectrum of cancer services to the residents served by the Central East Regional Cancer Program. Completed in 2007 as a partnership between Cancer Care Ontario and Lakeridge Health, the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre is a 90,000-square foot facility that houses cutting-edge equipment and a team of oncology specialists committed to providing quality cancer care.

Kirsten Burgomaster
Kirsten Burgomaster is Regional Vice-President of the Central East Regional Cancer Program. In this role, Kirsten works closely with Regional Cancer Program’s leadership, regional clinical leads, partner hospitals and agencies to ensure cancer care in the community aligns with Cancer Care Ontario's goals, standards and best practice guidelines.
Most recently, she was the program’s regional director. Previously, Kirsten was the clinical director of the Durham Regional Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health until 2017. There she was responsible for the leadership and management of the cancer centre. She also served as director of the Research program at Lakeridge Health.
Kirsten is an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ontario, Institute of Technology, and actively participates in collaborative research projects that align with the values, goals and strategic direction of the organization.
